In continuing with the theme of animals that people find cute and pretty, Google has recently come out with a new update (again!). I know… When are they going to let be, right? Well, this update is actually not something that is going to seriously affect the way your website is built, or how the guys working on it, should do so.
Google Hummingbird is designed to factor in more search terms and create a better schematic for calculating the value of the keyword phrases you want to use on your site. Now, for those of you reading this who are not website designers, or SEO experts, think about it like this. Panda and Penguin are tow updates that are designed to freeze unethical behavior and penalize it. See what I did there? Cold climate animals and negative verb and adjective structure in comparison? Witty, isn’t it?
Hummingbird on the other hand is a update meant to make search criteria better for the average user. This is because more and more people, like you and I, are using long-tail keywords in their searches. Now, a long-tail keyword is a “super duper extra long with salami and rye bread” keyword phrase that people search for. Google has finally realized that some of those long phrases that people search actually have value, which is why you will see more and more of these sort of keywords being using on your website by the guys managing it.
