Video Transcription: “I am Keanan Kintzel and I own Buzzazz right next door. We’re in Clearwater Florida a long way from my home up in northern Indiana near Chicago. This is the brand new Cleveland Street Studios in downtown Clearwater right across from the old post office and it’s a micro studio for people like photographers, videographers and people that like drones. We’re going to do some events here, podcasting & live streaming etc. Basically I had the concept where I grew up in northern Indiana we had Wahlbergs was in Cedar Lake. It was a great photography studio and that was my first real paying job actually outside of the family business and I cleaned his studio and helped him and I was fascinated by you know Mr. Wahlberg and his photography equipment and stuff and he had a dark room. Those little studios in the last 10 years or so have all disappeared from the landscape.

 

So I thought what a great thing if we could build a studio for the photographers that still are in business that don’t have the wherewithal to have a studio but they could share it so this is kind of a co-op community studio that I’ve created. This equipment you see here was brought here by Flair Media Group. He is a professional videographer. He’s done commercials for Toyota and other companies in the area and so he’s collaborating now. So we want to make it a collaborative community effort to have a studio that is affordable for photographers, videographers, small businesses to do headshots, maybe some company videos, etc.

 

 

Get the good news out there. It’s so insidious you know how much bad news is promoted on a daily basis through the papers the magazines the TV etc. It was 1995 or so a friend of mine suggested that I stop watching the news and reading the newspaper. He said I would feel better. I said, “oh that’s a bunch of bunk”. He said, “no no come on try it”. So all right I’ll try it and lo and behold after a few weeks I couldn’t believe how much better I felt. That was my first kind of wake-up call to wow there really are merchants of chaos you know that make a fortune creating trouble out there and you know anybody watching this can take a look. They probably understand what I’m saying.

 

When you and Pat and Orianna came to me with this idea, the Community Good News Warehouse,  I thought what a marvelous creation to be part of. So to have something that offsets the balance to promote you know the kid who won the spelling bee, you know what I mean, where’s that go. It’s never on the news or the people that helped the girl scouts win the you know the price for the most cookie sales or the team that won the little league regional championships. So there is a lot of good things that happen in our community, it’s just normally not promoted for whatever reason.

 

So the warehouse to me is the most brilliant idea I’ve seen for a community in a long time and I’m super super excited to be part of it. Hi how y’all doing today this is keenan from buzzazz live at the hive down in clearwater florida.
This is a short short short video so don’t delete i got a surprise at the end.  I wanted to say hello and you can see I don’t have a mask because down here in Florida we’re no longer mandated there’s no more rules on having to wear a mask so we’re not even to go there i’m just happy that there’s sunshine and there’s no bugs out there hope you’re all are doing well.
I want to talk to you a little bit for one  minute – I swear one minute – about something right out of the master closers course which is one of the training courses we offer at the International Business Training Center here in Clearwater in Pinellas county and there are seven steps of selling based right out of the master closes course.
They are one contact two build agreement three develop interest four qualify five handle objections six close seven deliver and I’m talking to a bunch of sales people so you already know all that so what i want to just talk about very briefly is the first step which is contact. It is very important and some people think it’s driving by waving throwing a flyer a postcard doing a meeting having a cocktail hour etc that may be part of it but the reality is it may take time to contact time energy going to church regularly not just once but regularly sincerely first of all going to the ymca or some other gym and sincerely working out.
Contact step is making a contact, making a friend,  helping them by spending time going out and offering something of value. It could be advice could be a video could be a book could be music it could be sharing the idea of a movie a best restaurant it doesn’t really matter but making contact and it does take time like in anything to develop a good relationship.
What we do here at Buzzazz is all relationship marketing so for me i don’t do anything else – it’s just easier you know. i grew up in a small town in Indiana with one stop iight  and that’s the way the whole town worked if you were a charlatan and you showed up in town wanting to sell aluminum siding i can tell you those ladies at the beauty shop they’re going to throw you out of town faster than you can make your first sale because they’ll know you’ll they’ll just know you weren’t there to contact and deliver something good.  On the other hand, if you were there with a good product, great. If not and there’s a scam going on you know our “Barney Fife” would know right away and you’re gone!
Well Andy Griffith not Barney Fife but i’m dating myself now, anyway that’s the thing, the key is in the “Contact Step”, that’s why it’s the first step in building the relationship by building agreement which is next and that may take anywhere from minutes to days to months it just really depends on how good you are and whether they’re the right potential prospect for your business.

Every business is searching for the all-important lead that will bring them their next sale or client. A successful way of doing this is by using digital advertising. Some examples of this are posting Facebook and Google ads, email marketing, or driving traffic to their website using SEO (search engine optimization). 

By definition, a business lead is a person who is interested in the product or service you sell.

Take, for example, marketing on Facebook. You post an advertisement on Facebook and someone reads it. They want to find out more, so they click it. This then captures their name, address and phone number and invites them to call or email.

The same holds true for Google ads. Someone searches for a product or service on the internet and when they find it, click on it to find out more. This also captures their name, address and phone number and invites them to call or email.

In fact, Google & Facebook both offer PPC or “Pay Per Click” ads that you do not pay for unless someone clicks on them. 

Now let us look at email marketing. 

Say you are sending a promotional email to 2000 customers who you have previously engaged or have done business with.  Or, if you have the right kind of emailing platform, you may do a broad email marketing campaign to potential new customers sending out 100,000 emails. 

With email marketing, you track a couple of factors for leads called “opens” and “clicks”. 

An “open” means that the email was opened. A “click” means that not only did they “open” the email, but they also clicked on something in the email to find out more about your company and what you have to offer. 

Often in email campaigns you already have their contact info and ‘clicks” and “opens” will let you know of their interest. 

SEO or “Search Engine Optimization” can also bring you leads by maximizing the number of visitors to your website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine. 

SEO can get you leads if your website has a way to capture their information and persuade people to call or email you.

Leads from Facebook, Google ads, email marketing & SEO are all viable ways to meet the definition “a business lead is a person who is interested in the product or service you sell”.

Now if you used these methods correctly and have gotten all these leads from your various digital marketing campaigns, how do you turn them into sales?

In digital marketing this is called a “conversion”. 

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word “conversion” is defined as “the process of changing or causing something to change from one form to another”. 

A conversion could be someone reading a Facebook ad and then clicking on it. Or someone clicking on it and then calling a number to find out more. Or the conversion you really want of someone calling in to find out more and then selling them your product or service. 

All leads are not created equally.

Depending on the type of leads you get from your digital marketing, the actions you take can vary greatly to convert them into a sale.

For example, you send someone an email and offer a “½ off buy now” deal and they come immediately to your office with a wad of 100-dollar bills and demand your services. 

This would be very different than someone who fills out a form on your website interested in a “1/2 off buy now” deal and when you call them, they do not remember the name of your company.

Most leads fall somewhere in between these two extremes and depending on how “hot” the lead is, may require several steps to actually create a sale.

Too often I see businesses initiate digital marketing campaigns and then expect immediate conversions to sales. This can happen, but more often it takes several actions to make the conversion.

Here is an example: 

John has an Electric Company in a major metropolitan area. He sends out 1 million emails to businesses and residents in a 15-mile radius of his office. The email does not try to sell anything, but instead is more of just an introduction and talks about safely using electrical appliances around your home and business. 

10,000 emails are opened and 1000 click on a link in the email that brings them to a landing page. A landing page is a standalone web page, created specifically for a marketing or advertising campaign. It is where a visitor “lands” after they click on a link in an email, or ads from Google, Bing, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or similar places on the web.

The landing page has a $25 offer of an electric inspection of their home or business. 5 people call to set it up. 5 others leave a number to be called.

7 appointments are set. 3 new customers get electrical work done. 

The other of the 10,000 emails that were opened but the person did not click to the landing page are put into an opt-in emailing system that has a higher open and click rate to drive them to the landing page.

Also, the emails are put into Google & Facebook remarketing campaigns, where they get targeted ads to drive them to the landing page. 

This digital campaign took 6 months. But it produced 20 new customers. 

So, in conclusion, businesses definitely need a constant flow of new leads and digital marketing is a great way to get them.

But unless you do the necessary steps to convert these leads to sales.  Which can often be several steps and take some time you will just be wasting your time and money and your leads will not “Give You Liberty”, only…

For 85 Years And 4 Generations,
Kluttz Lumber Have Serviced Their Community

Kluttz Lumber are a retail building supplier, and a supplier of building materials, that Buzzazz has worked with for over 5 years. They operate out of Concord, North Carolina, and have been part of the community there for a long time.

They have been in business for 85 years and through 4 generations of their family. For 60 to 70 years they have been B. E Kluttz, and before that they were E C Kluttz, and were responsible for building a lot of the downtown homes in their town. Pat started there in 1988, and got married to Charles Kluttz in 1990. Pat helps out, but she says Charles is the real soul of the company.

Charles delivers incredible customer service – coming in at 5 in the morning and staying until 10 at night; providing the kind of hands on customer service the chains don’t. Kluttz has been there for the evolution of the lumber industry in their area, from when there were only 3 local lumber yards, that used to work together, and refer business to each other, to now, when a lot of the larger chains have moved in. A lot of people assume these larger chains are cheaper and they aren’t, and there are certain things that Kluttz can do that they aren’t able to.

Kluttz carries a better grade or quality of lumber at a lower price, and Charles is always looking for new services that they can provide their customers. One such thing is live edge tree slabs, and exotic hardwoods, which are soaring in popularity. Charles has been doing his work the same way it has been done for 85 years, because it works, and he is highly skilled at what he does.

Kluttz Lumber is very involved in the local community – they have donated to Habitat to help the homeless, and various other projects in the local community. Pat has been an active Music Minister teaching musical groups, adult choir, children’s choir, and has run a praise band / contemporary service for most of her life.

It’s always a pleasure calling their office, whether you speak, to Rhonda the Office Manager, or Pat, or any of the other staff, they are always friendly. The fact that Charles loves the business really does give the company a beating heart, and anyone who works with them can see that.

Filmstruck Was An Unappreciated Gem

I have heard people who say things like I won’t watch it if it’s in black and white. I move away from them while silently judging them. I know people who won’t watch a science fiction movie because they have an amputated imagination. I have heard of people who loathe westerns. People who spit on war films. There are people with defective funny bones who never sit down in front of a comedy.

There are popcorn munching blockbuster lovers who would never ever watch an arthouse movie, and vice versa. And then there are cinephiles – those who hunt down and watch every example of film that they can find. It is for those cinephiles that a site like Filmstruck is pure gold. It is both education and entertainment and it is, in many cases art.

It seems strange that it should ever have to shut up shop, but sometimes even great ideas have a shelf life. The films on the site won’t disappear because they make up some of the highpoints of film history, and are regulars in the must-see lists of those who know about film.

The Criterion Collection is a gem, and I have already signed up to be notified when it comes back online. It is one of those imprints that preserves and makes available films that might fade into obscurity, or some that would have never had a light shone on them if it wasn’t for such an open arena.

Commerce Will Demand A Return Of These Films In Some Form

Will it be priced to be so available to people as Filmstruck was, and will it take such care to curate, and create such great accompanying documentaries and podcasts? Of course it is hard to tell before something appears, but it is not hard to judge what is being lost as it disappears. I know I, like many others who love film, have been trying to watch as many of the films on Filmstruck as they can before the November 29th deadline rolls around.

It is obviously not the first website to evaporate like so much digital mist, and it won’t be the last, and as the big players like DC Comics and Disney launch their own streaming services, the pressure on smaller providers isn’t going to get any less.

I like the kooky little niche sites – the ones that have a unique idea and a certain charm that derives from their individuality. One has to hope that the bigger companies and their monopoly doesn’t squash it all. I have faith that it won’t, but that doesn’t make things like the disappearance of Filmstruck any less distressing.

Stan Lee Gave Us So Much With His Characters

I remember at one point thinking Stan Lee was a little hokey, and kind of resented the damned preamble to every story Marvel put out, because it was reminscent of a dog marking its territory. What did I know? Spotting Stan Lee in the Marvel movies of the last so many years has become something of a sport, if not a very strenuous one, and whatever the iniquities foisted on his partners in crime, like Jack Kirby, you can’t deny that the man has been hustling in front of and behind the scenes for decades.

Of course there will never be another Stan Lee – the unique pressures that were at work to form this unique diamond of a man are hardly going to be in play this many years after he first transformed Peter Parker into Spiderman. He stitched so much of the Marvel Universe together that it was nice to seem him doing that in his cameos.

He was born in New York in the forties and co-created Spiderman, The X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Ant Man. That isn’t all of them, but just look at that roster, and you can see that just one of these would be enough to qualify someone for the hall of fame.

If You Love Marvel, You Should Thank Stan Lee

I have read and enjoyed comics with each and every one of these characters, and I have watched tv shows and seen cartoons and movies about them too. One might say that nerd culture was largely built on the back of comics culture, and comics culture was most definitely built on a structure that Stan Lee went a long way to building. Go into a comic shop and you see the toys, you see the comic books, you see the movies, and you see everyone from children learning to read up to old men who started collecting comics from back in the day when Lee first started out, all happily coexisting.

People have their favourite comic companies, and it may not be one of the big two, Marvel or DC, but to deny their impact would be foolish – to deny that they carved out a space in the public consciousness is unthinkable, and to not point to the genius of Stan Lee as pivotal in creating that market would be ridiculous. He may have become a little P T Barnum at points, but just look at his body of work and you have to acknowledge Stan Lee as a great.

He was 95 when he died, and up until recently he seemed possessed of the same energy and enthusiasm that always came along with the words Stan Lee Presents. He never stopped – still creating original works well into his 90s. Who wouldn’t have wanted to do some of the things Stan Lee did? And there is a genius too in making it look like so much fun, while getting so much done.

The 23rd Annual Charity Golf Classic

If you love golf and you want to combine that love with helping the community, this event is the perfect one for you. Held every year, the focus of the Charity Golf Classic this year is raising money to support the “Going Home” Homeless Reduction Program.

This is part of The Community Service Foundation’s ongoing commitment to reducing homelessness and transforming the lowest income neighborhoods , improving the quality of life of all who live in them. This also works to lift the quality of life of the community as a whole.

The Community Service Foundation, in an historic alliance with various local faith-based, non profit organizations, and local businessmen, is working to change the situation affecting the homeless people who live in and around Clearwater, Florida, giving real help that provides practical solutions for those who need it.

The 23rd Annual Charity Golf Classic fundraising goal of $25,000.00 will help fuel the rehab of Tieman Village (3 multifamily affordable housing properties) and support the “Going Home” Homeless Reduction Program.

Tieman Village is located at Woodlawn Street And Martin Luther King Boulevard, in the Lake Bellevue Revitalization Neighborhood and, as mentioned, comprises 3 multi-family rental units.

Going Home will provide a number of much needed services for the 70-90 individuals in Clearwater including housing, job training, and mentoring.

You still have a chance to help sponsor this, and to help bring those who need it a real solution that is going to change their life. This will have a lasting impact on both the individuals helped, and on the community at large.
